Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then located many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report preliminary tests indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the case" and have asked to the community for tips.
A high-ranking official said the vandalism rendered him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
